What this report shows, the choices you make when running it, and how to read each section.
What this report is for
The Sales by Zip Code report totals your net sales and transaction count by zip code for a date range you choose — useful for seeing where your business is geographically, for example when planning local marketing.
How the report works
Not every transaction has a zip code attached the same way — it might come from the transaction itself, from a signed waiver, or from the guest's profile. Because of that, you tell the report which source to check first, second, and third when looking for a zip code to use for each transaction; it uses the first one that actually has a value.
The choices you make when running it
These are the settings available. Everything else is calculated automatically.
1. The time period
| Setting | What it does |

| Start Date | The beginning of the date range you want to report on. |
| End Date | The end of the date range you want to report on. |
2. Where to pull zip codes from
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1st attempt to pull zip code from | The first source to check for each transaction's zip code: Transaction, Waiver, or Guest. |
| 2nd attempt to pull zip code from | If the first source doesn't have a zip code, this is checked next. Only the two sources you didn't pick for the 1st attempt are offered here. |
| 3rd attempt to pull zip code from | If neither of the first two sources has a zip code, this last source is checked. Only whichever source you haven't already picked is offered here. |
| Only show sales with zipcode | Turn this on to exclude sales where no zip code could be found from any of the three sources. Off by default, so those sales are grouped together under a blank zip code. |
What's shown on the report
A chart plots Net Sales by zip code, and a table below it lists the same figures in detail:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Zip Code | The zip code, resolved using your 1st/2nd/3rd attempt settings above. |
| Transaction Count | The number of transactions tied to that zip code. |
| Net Sales | The net sales tied to that zip code. |
How to read the layout
The table is sorted by zip code, and you can click any column header to re-sort by that column instead — for example, sort by Net Sales to quickly find your top zip codes.
