MAKE SURE HARDWARE PREREQUISITES AND .NET FRAMEWORK 4.7.1 ARE INSTALLED BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THIS ARTICLE. IF THEY ARE NOT FIND THAT ARTICLE HERE
One more thing to note before starting: if its not a new install, and we are updating the gateway. make sure to uninstall the old one from the control panel and delete the old Aluvii folder from the program data folder in the C: drive
Step #1. Click the download for the latest version of the Gateway in the hardware management module, in this case, it is Gateway 6.1.04. Clicking this will open another window with a download button, download the software and open the file from the bottom left corner of the screen
Step #2. Click "More info" in the dialog box, this will reveal a "Run Anyway" button, hit that button.
Step #3. You will be greeted by the installer go ahead and hit next and make sure to accept the software terms and agreements, hit next again.
If all is done properly this is where you name and configure the Gateway.
Step #4. Fill out the information above.
- The "Customer ID" is the Client Name. This can be found in their software url. For example: https://rapidswaterpark.aluvii.com the client name in this link is rapidswaterpark. Enter the correct Client name in the Customer ID field.
- The "Gateway Name" is what you would like to name or call the device. Typically companies follow things like "Front desk 3", "POS 4", "Cafe", etc. No wrong answers here.
- The "Access Token" is essentially a passkey that allows the connection. By default, Aluvii sets the access key as "blather", use this unless it has been changed in the administration module on Aluvii.
Step #5. Hit next and then install, you will then be prompted to allow access to your computer, hit yes. Once its done loading you can finish the install. The program service will now be running, if all is done correctly, you can view the newly created gateway on the Hardware Management module in Aluvii. It will show as connected.
