Payment Plan Data Source

Use the pay plan payment data source when you want to communicate with guests about their pay plan payments — whether a payment is coming up, has successfully processed, or has failed.

Sample Campaign Ideas

  • Upcoming payment reminders sent a few days before a scheduled charge, giving guests time to ensure their card is up to date.
  • Membership renewal / payment confirmation emails sent to the account owner on the day a payment successfully processes and a membership is renewed.
  • Failed payment notifications sent to the account owner on the day of a failed attempt, including the decline reason and card on file with instructions on how to update the payment method.
  • Escalating urgency notices as the number of failed attempts increases, communicating the risk of membership suspension.
  • Membership suspension warnings when a guest is approaching the maximum retry limit or has exceeded the maximum retry limit.

Notes about select fields:

  • Original Schedule Date - the date that the payment was originally schedule to take place.
    • Tips on use in filters:  For campaigns sent on a schedule, it is recommended to use the "days ago" operator to filter.  Positive numbers are in the past and negative numbers are in the future (ie. 1 = yesterday, 0 = today, -1 = tomorrow).
  • Last Attempt Date - the date of the most recent attempt to charge the payment method on file for the payment plan (this is only applicable for failed and succeeded attempts.  For future attempts, use the "Original Schedule Date" field instead).
