Enabling Inventory in Variant Groups

This article shows how to enable inventory tracking on your variant group products. Here's how to do it:

  1. Before we proceed, we assume that you already created the variant group in register management. If not, click here to learn more about creating product variants.

  2. Also, we assume that you already created the inventory site where you keep the products stored. If not, click here to know more about setting up inventory sites.

  3. To start, go ahead and enable the Inventoried option of the parent product of your variant group. In this example, the parent product is Hoodie.Variant_Inventory_1.png

  4. Now go to the Variant Groups tab and edit the variant group for the product to be inventoried, and click on the Inventory Sites button to edit the inventory setting for the specific variant of that product. In this example, we will edit the "Small/Red" variant of the Hoodie.Variant_Inventory_3.png

  5. A window will pop up that will allow you to set the current quantity on hand and enable the inventory tracking for that product variant. In this example, there are only 3 units of this variant out of the 24 total hoodies in the inventory. Click Close to proceed.Variant_Inventory_4.png

  6. After that, you will now see that the "Small/Red" variant of the Hoodies is now inventoried. Variant_Inventory_5.png
